The game offered a theme similar to a combination of Dark Souls and Fall Guys, but unfortunately, the dismal player count was the biggest reason for its closure. Visiting the King of Meat homepage now, we see the latest announcement from the developer highlighting the game's struggles to attract players: "Although Glowmade brought creativity and innovation to King of Meat, unfortunately, the game did not attract the players we expected. Therefore… King of Meat servers will close on April 9, 2026."

King of Meat promotes itself as a comedic television show, featuring enthusiastic hosts, hilariously violent competitions, and goblin-like characters with improvised weapons like spiked explosive hammers. A chaotic cartoon is transformed into a multiplayer platform game where players must survive against each other.

It was a sad and swift end for a game that received 'mostly positive' reviews on Steam, but it's proof that even the backing of big stars and major brands can't guarantee a game's success.
