'Nightmare' with a 10/10 rating is now available for free on Steam: Gamers are stunned by its horror level, which far exceeds expectations.

Amidst the constant influx of free-to-play games onto Valve's platform, a small but haunting name is unexpectedly rising to capture the community's attention.

That's Water Womb World - a completely free horror game that was recently released on Steam and quickly achieved a 100% positive review rate. Many players even gave it a 10/10, calling it an amazing experience despite its short playtime of only about 15 minutes.

Water Womb World was actually released in 2020 as an independent indie game project by developer Yamas.

However, it wasn't until February 24th that the game officially re-released on Steam with an upgraded version, adding new soundtracks, developer commentary, and an achievement system for players to explore. This boost helped the game reach a larger audience and quickly created a viral sensation.

Described as a deeply immersive horror game, Water Womb World plunges players into the deep sea – where they explore the surrounding environment while conducting research in a mysterious laboratory. The storyline revolves around uncovering the truth behind the primal sin of the Primordial Underwater Adam – an entity reminiscent of familiar symbols, but reimagined in a more distorted and horrifying way.

Water Womb World's gameplay isn't overly complex. Players primarily interact with the environment, collect items, and gradually piece together the storyline. However, what makes the game so captivating lies in its dense, suffocating atmosphere and the constant feeling of unease. Without sudden jumpscares or monster chases, the game still sends chills down the player's spine thanks to its subtly nuanced sound, visuals, and symbolism.

The developers also warned that the game contains images of body disfigurement and details alluding to death. However, most players believe that this very grit contributes to the depth of the experience.

To date, Water Womb World maintains a 100% positive review rate on Steam – an impressive number for any product, especially a free indie game. Many users describe it as a short but powerful work, even comparing the feeling the game evokes to an artistic experience rather than a simple game.
