The Splatoon Universe Welcomes Its First Offline Game Project in July

Splatoon is already famous for its multiplayer PvP experience across its various games, but Switch 2 users will soon be able to play solo in Splatoon Raiders.

Splatoon Raiders offers a fresh single-player experience.

Created by Shintaro Sato and Hisashi Nogami, the franchise released its first game in 2015 as a Nintendo Wii U exclusive. Upon its release,  Splatoon  quickly became an incredibly successful new franchise for Nintendo, with the first game receiving an 81 rating on OpenCritic. Two years later,  Splatoon 2  landed on the Nintendo Switch, proving itself to be one of the best games released alongside the hybrid console at the time.

The third and most recent  Splatoon game  launched on Switch in September 2022, delivering the most impressive experience in the entire series. After being first revealed at the Nintendo Direct event in June 2025, the next game in the franchise, , now has an official release date.

Nintendo's various social media accounts have just announced that  Splatoon Raiders  will be released on July 23rd, exclusively for Switch 2. This announcement comes with a new trailer, approximately 3 minutes long, providing a glimpse into what fans need to know about the game.

There are still many other promising Switch 2 projects.

The trailer opens with a brief introduction to the character creation feature, showcasing trendy hairstyles for players to choose for  their Inkling  character . The July 23rd release date further confirms NateTheHate's March prediction. At the time, he listed the  Nintendo games  that would be arriving this summer, including a  new Nintendo Switch  game, Sports (or a Switch 2 upgrade for the 2022 game), a Switch 2 of  Pikmin 4,  a new  Star Fox  game  , Rhythm Heaven Groove, Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weaver  , and finally, the  aforementioned Splatoon  project.

However, there is currently no official news about a new game, or Switch 2 versions for  Switch Sports  and  Pikmin 4. Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave  also doesn't have a specific release date, with only  Rhythm Heaven Groove  being planned for release by Nintendo on July 2nd, at least within the rumored summer timeframe. The announced release date at least adds a bit of credibility to NateTheHate's leak.
