1. EXORCISM AND DESTROY DEMONS!

In the Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess demo , you play as Soh, a guardian of the mountain goddess Yoshiro, on a journey to purify the demons plaguing Mount Kafuku.

In each defiled area, Yoshiro would need to perform an exorcism ritual using the Kagura dance at the Torii gate before nightfall.

As the guardian of the mountain girl, you and the villagers must protect Yoshiro from demons (called Seethe) to complete this ritual.

Similar to Okami , the game draws heavily on Japanese legends and culture, therefore, the entire visual and audio elements reflect these aspects.

2. MIXED ACTIONS… GOAL DEFENSE!

Each level in the Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess demo will have two main phases: preparation and defense, corresponding to two time periods: day and night.

During the day, you'll need to scout the area, eliminate villagers, and transform them into warriors capable of fighting at night. Initially, the number of villager professions will be limited, but more professions will gradually unlock as you progress through the game. 

Next, position them in key defensive locations to ensure no one can get through and attack Yoshiro – which is the 'fortress' you'll need to defend.

Once ready, Yoshiro will perform the exorcism dance and move to the destination.

As night falls, the Torii gates will open, and a horde of yokai (supernatural beings) will pour in to attack Yoshiro. Depending on the terrain of the area, some monsters will take advantage of the situation to 'slip' through your defenses.

Unlike traditional tower defense games, Soh will directly participate in battles alongside other players.

You can defeat enemies with countless bloody 'combo' attacks, just like the Hashira in Kimetsu no Yaiba , or support your warriors by unleashing skills that boost their combat power.

As it's also a real-time action game, you won't be confined to a specific location for your warriors; you can completely change their professions or move them during combat.

After each level, you'll be rewarded with points and equipment to 'upgrade' your Soh and combat classes, preparing you for the journey ahead!

3. WHEN WILL IT BE RELEASED?

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is scheduled to be released on July 19, 2024, on all console and PC platforms.

Additionally, Game Pass users will also be able to experience this game at the same time it launches.
