Is Warhorse Studios developing a Lord of the Rings game?
According to recently shared information, Warhorse Studios – the developer of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – is in the process of developing a game based on The Lord of the Rings .
This isn't the first time information about a Lord of the Rings game has been shared online. Last year, Insider Gaming reported that the Abu Dhabi Investment Office had invested nearly $100 million in a new game adaptation.
In addition, we also know that this will be a third-person game similar to Hogwarts Legacy .
Discovered by user hiberner toujours on ResetEra, Ryszard Chojnowski – a person with 27 years of experience in the gaming industry and former project leader for The Witcher – recently appeared on the Tolkien Polska Podcast and revealed that Warhorse Studios is developing a Lord of the Rings game .
Specifically, hiberner toujours shared the following:
'A few months ago, Insider Gaming published a report stating that the UAE was investing $100 million in a new open-world Lord of the Rings game. This project is being developed by one of the studios under Embracer Group (the company that holds the rights to the Lord of the Rings games), codenamed 'Revenge Studios'.'
A few days ago, in a podcast, Ryszard Chojnowski – a seasoned figure in the Polish gaming industry – stated that he had heard from reliable sources that the studio developing the aforementioned game is actually Warhorse Studios – the team behind Kingdom Come: Deliverance and a subsidiary of Embracer Group.
He had heard this information a few months ago but didn't really believe it then; however, recently more rumors have surfaced surrounding this issue.
Currently, it's important to note that all information regarding this new Lord of the Rings project remains at the rumor stage, and we haven't received any confirmation from Warhorse Studios yet .
