Attacking an opponent in the ring, an esports player receives a 10-year ban, the reason for which is surprising.

A shocking incident has just occurred in the world of esports, with a Counter-Strike 2 player being banned from competing for 10 years after assaulting an opponent on stage.

What surprised the community even more was the underlying cause, a seemingly minor incident that led to extremely serious consequences.

According to published information, the 31-year-old gamer nicknamed MAUSchine acted in an unacceptable manner after his team lost.

As the two teams lined up to shake hands – a familiar ritual in professional competition – MAUSchine unexpectedly approached and slapped his 24-year-old opponent (Spidergum) directly in the face, causing his glasses to fall onto the stage. The incident occurred right in front of the cameras and a large audience, creating a tense and chaotic atmosphere. Notably, after the slap, the player attempted to shake hands with the organizers as if nothing had happened, but was immediately refused.

The reason for this impulsive action is believed to stem from an opposing player mimicking MAUSchine's celebration during the match. After gaining an advantage in several crucial rounds, the opponent imitated his familiar celebration style, a mildly provocative act, quite common in competitive environments.

However, instead of viewing it as part of psychological warfare, MAUSchine reacted extremely. After the match ended in defeat, he lost control of his emotions and decided to retaliate on stage. Following the incident, the DACH CS esports organizers issued a very harsh penalty: a ban from competing for at least 10 years, and reported the incident to the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC).

Shortly after, Fragster also announced a similar ban across its entire league system. With such a long duration, MAUSchine's professional gaming career was practically officially over. These organizations all emphasized that violence has no place in esports, and any behavior that goes beyond acceptable standards will be dealt with severely.

In esports, trash talk, provocation, and excessive celebrations are not uncommon and are often seen as part of the competitive nature of the game. However, this incident shows that the line between competitive spirit and unsportsmanlike conduct is extremely thin.

Even a minor incident, a celebration perceived as provocative, can escalate into a serious event if those involved fail to remain calm.
