Blight: Survival Reaches 1.5 Million Wishlists: Is the Scariest Medieval Horror Masterpiece of 2026 About to Explode?
A medieval-themed survival horror game is unexpectedly becoming the center of attention among gamers on Steam.
Titled Blight: Survival, this project quickly surpassed 1.5 million wishlist entries despite not yet having an official release date – an impressive achievement for a game still under development.
Blight: Survival is a project from developer Haenir Studio and published by Behaviour Interactive, a name familiar to the horror game community thanks to the success of Dead by Daylight.
From the moment the first gameplay footage was released, the game quickly generated immense interest thanks to its unique concept and characteristic gloomy atmosphere. Blight: Survival is set in a brutal medieval world where two kingdoms are locked in war. In the desolate wasteland between these two nations, a mysterious plague called Blight has broken out, transforming the dead into bloodthirsty monsters. This has turned the area into a deadly zone, a place only the bravest warriors dare to venture.
In the game, players take on the role of warriors tasked with venturing into lands contaminated by a plague. There, they face numerous dangers, from dangerous zombies to surviving human enemies in the war zone. The player's goal is not only to survive but also to gather resources, find equipment, and gradually uncover the source of the plague in order to eradicate it.
One of the biggest highlights of Blight: Survival is its authentic medieval-style combat system. Players will use familiar weapons such as swords, bows, and various other melee weapons to fight. Instead of fast-paced arcade action, battles in the game are designed to be more intense and calculated, where every swing of the sword or block is crucial for survival.
The game also supports co-op PvE mode for up to four players, allowing gamers to cooperate with friends to explore the world and confront threats. In addition, Blight: Survival incorporates many elements from roguelite and extraction games. Players will venture into dangerous areas to collect weapons, armor, and resources, then return to base to upgrade their equipment and prepare for the next expedition.
Currently, Blight: Survival is still under development and is expected to launch first on PC via Steam before expanding to other platforms. However, with over 1.5 million wishlists in the early stages, this survival horror game is showing immense appeal and is expected to explode in popularity upon its official release.
