Why was it closed?

Epic Games stated that they tested several modes, but some did not meet expectations:

  • Not attracting enough players.
  • Failing to retain players for the long term.
  • Failed to meet internal quality standards.

According to the official statement, the company admitted that they 'did not create something compelling enough to attract and retain a large player base'.

+ Part of a larger change

This decision was made at the same time as:

  • Epic Games lays off more than 1,000 employees.
  • Fortnite content restructuring
  • Focus on the more successful modes.

These moves are aimed at helping the company stabilize its finances and focus on the core Fortnite experience .

What does this mean for the players?

  • Players still have time to experience the modes before they are removed.
  • The process and related content will be discontinued after the closure.
  • Fortnite will focus more on Battle Royale and other successful game modes.

The closure of these modes shows that Fortnite 's strategy as a multi-game platform is being streamlined, keeping only the experiences that truly engage players.
