Invincible VS Confirms Open Beta Date and Featuring Characters

Invincible VS has officially confirmed its open beta test dates from April 9th ​​to 11th, featuring a roster of 10 characters and adding Allen the Alien to the lineup.

Developed by Quarter Up and published by Skybound Games, Invincible VS is a 3v3 tag-team fighting game based on Robert Kirkman's Invincible comic book series and the hit Amazon Prime superhero animated film. Previous trailers have revealed iconic characters like Atom Eve, Omni-Man, Monster Girl, and Invincible itself in fast-paced, bloody battles. Players will also be taken to some of the most memorable locations from the film.

The game will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC in late April. To give players their first real-world experience, Skybound Games is launching an open beta, but not all fans will have access.

Through a new trailer, Invincible VS has confirmed that the Open Beta will only be available on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 consoles. To participate in the public beta, fans simply need to download the Open Beta from their preferred app store without prior registration. This beta will feature 10 playable characters. The latest trailer also announces the inclusion of Allen the Alien, one of Invincible's most powerful allies and a beloved character voiced by Seth Rogen. While PC players will not be able to participate in this Open Beta, they can still enjoy the full version on PC via Steam when the game launches.

In a recent interview on the PlayStation Blog, executive producer Mike Willette explained that the upcoming Open Beta will "focus on online gameplay and ranked matches." According to Willette, after completing the tutorial and practice mode, players will compete in a number of placement matches. They will then be matched with players of similar rank and skill in Ranked mode. In addition to 10 characters, the Open Beta will feature 6 arenas, some inspired by the anime, such as Ka-Hor's tomb. Notably, Invincible VS will have a total of 18 characters when it officially launches, so the Open Beta allows players to test out more than half of the original character roster.

Although the open beta features many well-known superheroes, it doesn't include Ella Mental . This is a completely new character making her debut in Invincible VS with her own separate storyline. Ella Mental's design was contributed by Invincible creators Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker, and she has the ability to use different elements in combat. The game has also confirmed that Dupli-Kate, Powerplex, Cecil, and the Viltrumite warriors Anissa and Lucan will be on the character roster. There are still two more characters yet to be revealed, but the developers will likely announce them in the coming weeks.

Following its global release on April 30th, Invincible VS is expected to introduce four additional fighters between June and December, obtainable through the Year 1 Character Pass . Some of the most powerful characters, such as The Immortal and Conquest, are still missing from the roster. Hopefully, many more beloved superheroes will be added soon, as the Invincible universe has a wealth of potential characters. Additionally, fans can look forward to the release of Invincible Part 4 on March 18th .
