RuneScape: Dragonwilds launches Dowdun Reach at the end of March.
Jagex has just confirmed that RuneScape: Dragonwilds will receive its next major update, called Dowdun Reach, on March 31st. This is a significant expansion that adds a completely new and large-scale area.
Players will explore the labyrinthine fortress of Dowdun Reach , currently under the rule of the corrupted Black Knight Titan. This area is defended by armored troops and features numerous Lesser Blue Dragons, creating a greater challenge for gamers.
+ A new area full of challenges and secrets
Dowdun Reach is designed as a complex, interconnected fortress with multiple layers of content:
- The corridor holds secrets and valuable items.
- Secondary missions are scattered throughout the area.
- The enemy groups are dispersed and the difficulty level is high.
- A gloomy setting, marked by the scars of those who have failed.
This is considered one of the most challenging areas the game has ever had.
+ Increased level cap and new equipment
The update also brings major changes to the character development system:
- Increase the level cap for all skills to 99.
- Unlock the max level skill cape.
- No more wasted experience points grinding levels; new content will unlock automatically with updates.
Additionally, the equipment system has been expanded with Mithril:
- Added a new equipment tier crafted from Mithril.
- Eight new weapons, including a large axe and a greatsword.
- Maple Shortbow and Longbow
- Armor made from the skin of a Blue Dragon.
- The Mystic Robes set is for players who enjoy magic.
+ Update roadmap for 2026 and upcoming content
Dowdun Reach is the next step following the Fellhollow update released in December 2025. Prior to that, the minor Beyond the Grave update(February) added new missions and activities.
In 2026, the game is expected to continue expanding with:
- Umbral Sands (late Q2/2026)
- Scorned Wilderness (end of Q3/2026)
- The Fishing skill will be released in April.
Currently, Dragonwilds is in Early Access on Steam, allowing players to play solo or in teams of up to four to explore the new continent of Ashenfall.
+ Release status
The game is now available on Steam Early Access and is currently 30% off during the Steam Spring Sale.
