A new Dragon Ball game, Project: Age 1000, has been revealed.
Dragon Ball Project: Age 1000, revealed during the Genkidamatsuri live stream, is scheduled for release in 2027.
While Dragon Ball fans might be a little 'hungry' for anime, those passionate about video games have had their thirst quenched in recent years. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has maintained its appeal for nearly a decade, Kakarot seems to be on a similar trajectory, and Sparking Zero has just delivered the best Dragon Ball game since FighterZ, regardless of what the internet says.
Not to mention The Breakers, Dragon Ball Legends, or Gekishin Squadra, all of which demonstrate just how important Dragon Ball has become as an icon in the gaming world. As if all that weren't enough, today's Genkidamatsuri festival also features the announcement of a brand new game, arguably one of the most exciting pieces of news recently – Dragon Ball Project: Age 1000.
As promised, today's Genkidamatsuri festival revealed a new game project. It's Dragon Ball Project: Age 1000, a mysterious project that Akira Toriyama was deeply involved in before his death. The trailer introduces a new character designed by Toriyama, who can transform into a Super Saiyan and seems to have some kind of connection to Goku.
This project has been in development for quite some time, but Bandai is still reluctant to reveal too much information. The title 'Age 1000' seems to suggest a setting in the distant future, a very interesting premise for a Dragon Ball game. Toriyama not only designed the main character, but he also participated in designing many other characters.
More details about the mysterious game will be revealed at the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 event later this year, and I'll definitely be counting down the days. For now, we can only watch the trailer repeatedly and start making theories. It's worth noting that Dragon Ball Online also starts in the year 1000, so the two games might be related.
