The fan-favorite game mode is finally returning to Fortnite after seven years.
Fortnite OG will bring back the Marvel Endgame mode for gamers, one of the game's most beloved limited-time game modes.
Nostalgia for Fortnite's early days remains strong. Fortnite OG brought back many old seasons, some of the greatest weapons, and even some of the best limited-time game modes. Now, with the return of Fortnite OG in Chapter 1 of Season 8 this week, the hugely popular Marvel Endgame limited-time game mode is also returning. The mode's return was confirmed by a teaser on Fortnite's social media channels, and the community has gone wild.
Season 8 Chapter 1 will launch on Fortnite OG on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, and the Marvel Endgame mode will unlock two days later, on April 3. This mode first launched in the same season nearly seven years ago. At the height of Fortnite's popularity, Endgame was incredibly popular and widely considered one of the best limited-time game modes the battle royale game ever had.
Since the return of this mode has only just been revealed, we don't know if it will return exactly as it was in 2019. Considering that previous Fortnite OG seasons have closely copied the original version, the return of Marvel Endgame will likely only have a few minor changes to improve the player experience.
This game mode was initially released the same week as the Avengers: Endgame movie hit theaters. In this limited-time mode, two teams have unlimited respawns to fight for victory. One team is the Avengers, and the winning condition is 150 kills to prevent the other team from respawning.
The Avengers' opponents are the Chitauri, whose goal is to collect all the Infinity Stones scattered across the map. If they manage to collect all the stones, Thanos will become incredibly powerful, and the Avengers will face considerable difficulty in defeating him.
When the new Fortnite OG season begins on April 1st, we'll learn more about how Marvel Endgame works. It will be interesting to see how many players return to the game to relive their all-time favorite Fortnite mode. Hopefully, it won't disappoint us.
