Fighting game 2XKO receives criticism for unreasonably expensive costume bundles.
Although 2XKO is highly regarded for providing a relatively enjoyable competitive experience for the League of Legends community, the price of in-game skins is becoming a controversial topic due to their rather steep cost.
2XKO players are complaining about the exorbitant prices of the costumes.
2XKO is a fighting game project set in the Runeterra universe, part of the popular MOBA game franchise, which was released on PC at the end of 2025 and on consoles on January 20th. Because the game uses characters familiar to the League of Legends community, it quickly attracted attention and enthusiastic participation. Similar to many other Riot games, 2XKO is completely free to play (but Vietnamese users need to change their IP to another country to play), and players can spend money on various skins and accessories.
However, the issue of purchasing costumes is becoming a controversial topic for many, as some feel that many costume bundles have unacceptable prices. Many have expressed concerns about being judged or embarrassed if others find out how much they spent on a particular character's costume while playing the game. This has led many to wait for price changes or potential discounts at some point in the future.
Over $100 just to buy outfits and accessories in the game.
Besides a few skins locked through the Season 1 Battle Pass, such as skins for familiar characters Warwick, Jinx, Ekko, and Caitlyn, 2XKO also introduced several other skin bundles. The Frameperfect bundle will donate a portion of its profits to organize tournaments for the game, alongside the Arcade Megabundle bundle with a design style based on classic arcade games. Each bundle comes with many other personalization options, such as emotes, stickers, and victory animations.
Riot also aimed to capitalize on the appeal of the animated series, adding costumes and accessories based on the show to 2XKO. While they look quite impressive and are well-made, the price tag is what prevents users from owning them.
For example, the Arcade Megabundle will cost players around $80 to own everything. For those who want to collect all the skins for Ekko, Jinx , and Vi, the only way is to shell out (ranging from $100 to $150) for the Ultra Starter Edition .
Overall, many people are probably already familiar with Riot Games ' practice of selling skins at extremely high prices through their two popular free-to-play games, League of Legends and Valorant. There have always been complaints about the cost of certain skins or skin bundles for one or more different champions.
Most notably, there are the outfits honoring players who have entered the Hall of Fame, with players having to spend millions of VND to obtain the Immortal Legendary Ahri skin in honor of Faker.
