League of Legends: MKV Esports Surprises Players by Parting Ways, Marking a Major Reorganization

Over the past few days, MVK Esports has surprised fans by parting ways with half of its official roster, leaving only Kratos, Gury, and SofM.

MVK Esports undergoes a major overhaul, parting ways with numerous players.

The 2026 League of Legends Asia-Pacific (LCP) Championship concluded Stage 1 after Team Secret Whales (TSW) defeated Deep Cross Gaming (DCG) in the Grand Finals. This result not only secured the first regional championship title for a Vietnamese League of Legends Esports representative but also earned them a spot representing the LCP at the international First Stand 2026 tournament.

However, Phase 1 also saw a disappointing failure from MVK Esports (MVKE), as they couldn't even advance past the group stage – something unprecedented throughout the 2025 season. Despite securing two victories against DetonatioN FocusMe and GAM Esports, MVK failed to win any further matches in the subsequent phase. They couldn't even defeat Ground Zero Gaming (GZ), a team that had only just joined the tournament.

This result is a wake-up call for MVK, demanding a restructuring for Phase 2 if they want to compete for international spots in the future. And it seems the management has realized this, as recently, four players officially said goodbye, including two veterans, Kati and Shogun. Kati's departure came as a surprise to many, as he was MVK's long-time captain.

Besides Shogun, the team's remaining marksman, Puddin, has also officially said goodbye. He was once expected to bring a fresh perspective to MVK's bottom lane, but unfortunately, due to some issues, Puddin couldn't participate. Ultimately, it seems he and MVK have decided to pursue different goals. Finally, Elio, who partnered with Shogun in the bottom lane this season, has also left the team.

Thus, MVK Esports' roster currently only has Kratos in the Top Lane, Gury, and Sofm in the Jungle position. It is known that Phase 2 of LCP 2026 will begin on April 4th, meaning MVK only has about a month to recruit players for the four vacant positions.

Currently, Kratos and Gury will most likely train with the MVK Academy youth team while waiting for the VCS 2026 Spring National Championship to conclude. It's possible that players like SiuLoong and Seany will be considered for a return to the first team, however, MVK's AD Carry situation remains quite challenging.
