LEC: Los Ratones Deliver the Most Viewed Match in LEC Versus 2026
The LEC Versus 2026 tournament witnessed a record-breaking viewership for a match between Los Ratones and G2 Esports, the highest since its inception on January 17th.
Los Ratones delivered record viewership for LEC Versus 2026
On the morning of February 2nd, Los Ratones achieved a surprising and impressive victory against G2 Esports , the champions of the LEC 2025 Summer Playoffs. This win became even more noteworthy as it became the most-watched match ever in the LEC Versus 2026 tournament.
According to Esports Charts, the match attracted 550,000 viewers, making it the fourth of the five most-watched matches Los Ratones have participated in, averaging around 447,000 viewers. The only other match without Los Ratones was between Fnatic and Karmine Corp, which attracted 495,000 viewers.
It's safe to say that Los Ratones' appeal largely stems from their coach and founder, Marc Robert "Caedrel" Lamont, who owns one of the most popular LEC co-broadcasting channels, Versus. With peak viewership of around 253,000 and an average of nearly 82,000, Caedrel's channel is currently considered a top choice for LEC viewers, alongside the league's main broadcast.
Previously, the Grand Finals between G2 Esports and Karmine Corp in the LEC Winter 2025 tournament was the most-watched series, peaking at 801,369 viewers. While G2 remains a major draw, the rise of Los Ratones shows that audience interest is expanding beyond established teams to embrace popular personalities within the community.
Just looking at the peak viewership during the first three weeks of the 2026 season clearly shows the growth and change taking place in the LEC. Peak viewership for top-tier LEC Versus matches in 2026 is comparable to Winter 2025, but co-streaming, community content, and broadcasts centered around a few individuals are increasingly playing a crucial role in driving these numbers.
Los Ratones is receiving increasing attention.
Throughout the 2025 season, Los Ratones garnered significant attention across the EMEA Masters 2025 tournament, with massive viewership across all three stages. However, peak viewership numbers showed signs of decline. Their most-watched match was the Winter Split Grand Finals against Japon Corp. Esports, reaching a peak of 486,000 viewers. In the spring, their match against Barca Esports attracted the most viewers, but this figure dropped to around 277,000.
By the Summer Split, the match between Los Ratones and Karmine Corp Blue peaked at nearly 265,000 viewers, a 4% decrease from the previous figure. Caedrel's co-stream remained the most-watched channel. Looking at the viewership figures, it's clear that Los Ratones' popularity is declining. But things are completely different for LEC Versus 2026. Furthermore, EMEA Tier 2 tournaments naturally attract smaller audiences compared to Tier 1 or international tournaments.
Therefore, Los Ratones' impressive statistics are partly why their matches are attracting increasingly large audiences. The rest comes from co-streaming sessions by their "owner," Caedrel. Currently, the EMEA league seems to rely on its community more than ever to attract fans and expand its reach. However, the season has only just begun, and it remains to be seen whether Los Ratones' explosive start can translate into sustainable growth.
