First Stand 2026: JDG Gala Praises GEN.G, Ready to Compete with BLG

JD Gaming secured a 3-1 victory over LYON to advance to the First Stand 2026 semifinals. ADC GALA stated that the team learned a lot from their match against BLG in LPL 2026 Split 1, and are now ready for revenge.

In the decisive match for the final spot in the First Stand 2026 semifinals, JD Gaming (JDG) secured a 3-1 victory against LYON. Despite the North American (LCS) representatives' best efforts, they only managed one win. After the match, marksman GALA acknowledged that LYON was indeed a strong team. He also didn't pay much attention to the team's record for the fastest best-of-five series in their match against LOUD.

Regarding the rematch against BLG, GALA believes Bin's team has the potential to control the game early on, accelerating progress from the laning phase. Therefore, JDG will strive to improve their laning phase, aiming for "revenge." Furthermore, GALA affirms that Coach Tabe's leadership has helped the team make significant progress despite only recently assembling a new roster. 

His coaching style focuses on thoroughly analyzing each champion, from strengths to weaknesses, thereby helping players better understand their choices. Beyond theory, JDG maintains a high intensity of practice along with constant communication between team members and the coaching staff. As a result, the team has significantly improved its tactical execution and teamwork.

Speaking about the First Stand 2026 tournament, GALA acknowledged that things happened quite quickly, with only 8 teams participating. Furthermore, the entire preparation and competition time for each team was only about two weeks. This forced teams to adapt to the meta very well if they wanted to go far. He believes this is one of the factors that led to many best-of-five matches ending with a dominant 3-0 score. 

When asked about the semi-final match between GEN.G and G2, GALA stated that the LCK representative still has a slight advantage due to their stability and tight tactical execution. Of course, that doesn't mean G2 has no chance. The LEC Versus 2026 champions defeated BFX – the LCK Cup 2026 runners-up – convincingly 3-0. However, overall, GALA still believes in GEN.G's ability to reach the Grand Finals.
