According to Variety, Netflix is ​​planning to raise prices across all its subscription packages for the second time in just one year. Currently, these new prices only apply to customers in the United States; however, experts believe that similar adjustments are likely to be made soon in international markets.

With this adjustment, all three subscription tiers of the platform will see an increase of $1 to $2 per month. Specifically, the Standard plan with ads will increase from $7.99 to $8.99. The Standard plan with ad-free features and support for simultaneous viewing on two devices will be raised from $17.99 to $19.99. Meanwhile, the most expensive Premium plan, which offers ad-free access, Ultra HD resolution, and HDR on up to four devices simultaneously, will increase from $24.99 to $26.99 per month.

According to the announcement, this price increase will officially take effect starting today, March 26th. The new pricing will directly impact both new subscribers and existing customers.

Speaking to the media, a Netflix representative affirmed that the core objective of this price increase remains to create more tangible value for users. Looking at the business picture, in its latest earnings report released in January, Netflix recorded a massive revenue of $12.05 billion, marking a 17.6% increase compared to the same period last year. Operating profit in the most recent quarter also reached $3 billion, a surge of 30% compared to the same period last year, solidifying the company's strong position in the streaming market.
