The One Piece anime production company unexpectedly announced they are working on a game.

Toei Animation is the animation studio that has produced many outstanding anime series, most notably One Piece. However, they recently surprised fans.

The studio behind the One Piece anime confirms they are developing a game.

The One Piece anime series   is produced by the talented team at Toei Animation and is currently considered one of the most visually stunning series. Many episodes of this anime were highly praised in 2025, and 2026 may well be just as highly anticipated as the story enters its climax.

However, it seems that parent company  Toei  is looking to venture into a different entertainment field. According to a recently published report, Toei is now beginning research and development of video games. This is extremely surprising news, as the company has primarily focused on anime and live-action films. But from a financial standpoint, this move makes sense, as this industry is quite large and has the potential to become a revenue source comparable to anime.

Toei has stated that they will focus on the PC platform before expanding to consoles, and that initial projects will primarily revolve around original franchises. Additionally, the company announced that the first project will be released on April 24, 2026. While no details about the game are currently available, fans shouldn't have to wait too long to learn more.
