Season 16 of the Teamfight Tactics esports system officially concluded with the first championship title going to Darth Nub from the North American region. Simultaneously, Riot Games introduced the new season with the theme: 'Space Gods'.

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) is a strategy game developed by Riot Games and officially published in Vietnam by VNGGames since November 2023. The game quickly became a sensation in the Vietnamese gaming community, attracting millions of players of all ages. Furthermore, TFT has gradually developed into a leading esports title in Vietnam, with a professional and well-structured tournament system attracting over 10,000 registrations for national qualifiers throughout 2024-2025 to compete for spots in regional and international TFT tournaments.

Over three days of competition from March 27th to 29th, 2026, in Guangzhou, China, the TFT World Championship - Tactical Crown tournament officially concluded, marking the end of Season 16: 'Legends & Legends'. Organized by Riot Games, the event featured 40 top TFT players from around the world, including four representatives from Vietnam for the second time. With a total prize pool of $470,000 USD (approximately 13 billion VND), the tournament continued to use the Checkmate 20 format for the final day of competition, similar to the previous six Tactical Crown tournaments.

In summary, American player Darth Nub brilliantly became the new champion of the tournament, helping North America claim its 5th world title, equaling the APAC region. This achievement also concludes his impressive performance in Season 16, where he won the Bilgewater Cup in the EMEA Premier League and reached the Top 16 of the TFT Paris Open in late 2025.

Meanwhile, the Vietnamese player with the best result at the TFT World Championship Season 16 was RRQ.Midfeed, finishing in 10th place. The other three representatives finished in 16th place, GD.Royal, RRQ.YBY1 (17th), and VP.Milo (20th).

During the TFT Season 16 World Championship, Riot Games also introduced some of the latest information about Season 17 of the game and this esports discipline. With the theme 'Space Gods', Season 17 of Teamfight Tactics presented an impressive short film featuring gods and units with new Origins and Classes from the League of Legends universe. Additionally, a showmatch was held on the final day of competition to entertain the audience and celebrate Season 17. Teamfight Tactics commentator Ghiền Đấu Trường Lý was the representative influencer from Vietnam participating in this special showmatch.
