Although they still only have one spot in the MSI tournament, CBLOL's representative will now advance directly to the main event's bracket without having to go through the preliminary round.

This information comes shortly after FURIA jungler Pedro 'Tatu' Seixas sparked controversy regarding the allocation of slots following the Brazilian team's Americas Cup victory. In a post-match interview after the win against Cloud9, Tatu frankly questioned the perceived favoritism towards the LCS region: "I want to understand why they have three slots, while I only have one. I really just want to understand that."

In an interview with Sheep Esports regarding whether pressure from the Brazilian fan community led to this decision, Riot Games' Global Esports Director for League of Legends, Chris Greeley, completely denied any involvement.

Mr. Greeley asserted: "No, I don't think pressure from the community had any real influence on this decision. Even recent results, such as at the Americas Cup, didn't affect it."

Instead, he explained that the decision stemmed from a reassessment of the league system: "Last year, we spent a lot of time focusing on separating the LCS and CBLOL. Frankly, I don't think we spent enough time from the beginning to thoroughly consider the implications for international event qualification."

The Riot executive further emphasized that the decision to add the slot was planned even before the Americas Cup began, concluding: "This is something we should have done right from the start of the initial announcement."
