The legendary Patlabor returns with a new 3D action game for PS5 and PC.

The iconic mecha franchise Patlabor is officially returning to the gaming world with a new project called PATLABOR the Case Files. This 3D action game, announced for PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam), promises a modern experience based on the classic original.

PATLABOR the Case Files will bring players back to many memorable scenes from Mobile Police Patlabor. The game is built in a 3D action style, focusing on battles between familiar Labor mechs. Players can experience missions from various perspectives. 'Main Missions' allow control of the Special Vehicle Section 2, while 'Another Side Missions' offer a perspective from the opponent's side, creating diversity in gameplay.

The game will feature over 20 Labor models, including familiar names like Ingram, Griffon, and Type Zero. Each machine possesses unique characteristics and fighting styles, requiring players to master them for maximum effectiveness. In addition to the main missions, the game also includes a 'Simulator Mode'. This mode allows players to practice shooting or participate in Labor-versus-Labor battles, helping to improve their skills before tackling major challenges.

The project brings together many veteran personnel who have contributed to the brand's success. These include Yutaka Izubuchi (mechanical supervisor), Kazunori Itou (script supervisor), and Akemi Takada (character design supervisor). The participation of this team is expected to ensure quality and adherence to the original spirit.

The plot revolves around a world where industrial robots called Labors become commonplace, leading to an increase in related crime. To combat this, the police force has established Special Vehicle Section 2, using the Patlabors themselves to maintain order.
