Xbox unveils new Stranger Than Heaven trailer, announces exclusive event for the game.
Microsoft recently provided a new look at Stranger Than Heaven at the Xbox Partner Preview event in March, and also confirmed that it will be holding a dedicated live stream for the game on May 7th (Vietnam time) titled 'Xbox Presents: A Special Look at Stranger Than Heaven'.
In the new trailer, Stranger Than Heaven continues to showcase its ambitious scale with a setting spanning five different historical periods, including the years 1915, 1929, 1943, 1951, and 1965. The story will take place in five different cities in Japan, offering diverse perspectives on society and people in each era. According to representatives from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, this is a project requiring a very large investment to recreate settings rarely explored in games.
Masayoshi Yokoyama, the studio representative and executive producer, stated that what appeared in the new trailer is only a small part of the game. He emphasized that the development team still has a lot of unreleased content and promised to deliver a unique experience that players will be hard to find elsewhere.
Besides the setting, the combat system is also a major highlight in this trailer. Players can see fast-paced, violent, and highly interactive combat sequences, including weapon use, grappling, facing multiple enemies simultaneously, and utilizing the surrounding environment. According to Yokoyama, this is a completely new step forward in the studio's combat system design.
The trailer also reveals many familiar elements characteristic of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio's style, such as city travel by train, romantic relationships, and detailed food-eating scenes. Music continues to play a significant role with a vibrant jazz soundtrack, and according to Yokoyama, there are still many noteworthy tracks yet to be introduced.
Additionally, the trailer hints at the appearance of several familiar characters, although the studio hasn't specifically confirmed their identities. Yokoyama only hinted that the game will feature a noteworthy cast of characters, and players can expect more big revelations at the upcoming event.
The private broadcast 'Xbox Presents: A Special Look at Stranger Than Heaven' will take place at 6 AM on May 7th, Vietnam time. During this broadcast, the development team will share more in-depth information about the characters, music, combat system, and many other previously unannounced elements. According to Yokoyama, this event will bring big surprises and provide players with a better understanding of the project's ambitions.
