Apple wants to narrow the gap between iPhone and iPad.

According to supply chain sources, Apple is developing its first foldable phone, commonly known as the iPhone Fold .

According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman , this device will have many software features similar to the iPad , especially multitasking capabilities.

The iPhone Fold is expected to support an iPad-like app layout, allowing for the opening of two apps side-by-side on the screen for the first time on an iPhone.

Apple is in the process of finalizing the iPhone Fold.

Large screen and interface optimized for multitasking.

The device is said to have an internal screen roughly the size of an iPad with a wide aspect ratio, while the external screen will be similar in size to a smaller iPhone.

Apple is also developing a new iOS app layout with a sidebar on the left, similar to how many apps work on iPadOS .

However, the iPhone Fold still runs iOS instead of iPadOS, and its multitasking system will be simpler than the desktop-based interface on the iPad.

Apple reduces the screen crease and changes biometric authentication.

One of Apple's main goals is to reduce the depth of the screen crease. According to previous reports, the crease on the iPhone Fold may only be about 0.15 mm deep thanks to ultra-thin glass technology and a hinge made from a 'liquid metal' alloy.

The device is expected to ditch Face ID and replace it with Touch ID integrated into the power button.
