LCP 2026: GAM Taki Keeps the Pressure on Himself to Improve, Ready to Confront Ground Zero

Following GAM Esports' first victory at LCP 2026 Phase 2, Support Taki stated that he faced more pressure due to the change in environment, and that these challenges helped him improve day by day.

GAM Esports defeated MVK Esports, securing the first point.

After a less-than-smooth first phase of the LCP 2026 tournament, finishing in the top 6, GAM Esports suffered another defeat in their opening match of Phase 2 against Team Secret Whales. Fortunately, in their recent match against MVK Esports, Coach Naul's team secured a hard-fought victory. Sharing his feelings after the match, Support Taki affirmed his joy at the win, while also admitting he hadn't performed his role well.

to achieve the first victory

Taki stated that since joining GAM, he has faced immense pressure, both from the fanbase and from himself. However, Taki decided to transform that pressure into motivation to work harder, focusing on restoring GAM to its former position as a strong team in the VCS region, similar to when captain Levi was still on the team. He also noted that in LCP 2026 Phase 2, the teams are relatively evenly matched. The team that makes fewer mistakes will have a greater chance of winning.

When asked about his performance with Bard in Game 1 of the recent match, Taki admitted that he hadn't performed well during practice. He was caught out alone several times, making it difficult to support his teammates. To overcome this, he tried to remind himself to stay calm, focus on controlling the game, and play in sync with his teammates.

Furthermore, Taki believes that Anivia is a frustrating choice for opponents because she can play both Mid Lane and Support. Her gameplay isn't too complicated, which is why she quickly became a hot pick in many regions.

Taki asserts that GAM will not underestimate Ground Zero.

Referring to the Shyvana pick in the third game, Taki said the team had been practicing how to play the champion since her rework. In the final game against MVK Esports, despite some issues in the draft phase, Shyvana unexpectedly appeared. Draktharr was confident and decided to ask the coach to let him play her. Although they ultimately won, Taki affirmed that the team would need to prepare better for the draft in the next match.

GAM's opponent in the third match is Ground Zero Gaming (GZ), a new name but one that has caused many surprises in Phase 1. Taki is certain that the whole team will have thorough preparation, especially focusing on the top lane position. He believes that 1Jiang is a very noteworthy player, and therefore will have some plans to 'take care' of him to help Kiaya perform better.

Finally, Taki wants to express his gratitude to the GAM fan community in particular and the Vietnamese League of Legends community in general. He is very happy that everyone continues to support the team even though they haven't achieved the best results yet. He believes that all the efforts of the team and the fans will be rewarded in the remainder of the LCP 2026 Phase 2 journey.
