A 9-year-old child is believed to have murdered his father in a similar manner in the game Call of Duty Warzone.
A 32-year-old man in Utah, USA, was brutally murdered on February 19th. According to Fox 13 News, police have issued an arrest warrant for the victim's 9-year-old son, who is suspected of being the perpetrator. It is believed the child was imitating the game Call of Duty Warzone , using a tomahawk axe and a handgun as weapons.
According to police, the victim and his son went to bed early, after which the son came out and informed everyone in the house that his father was bleeding. The crime scene report indicated the victim had been shot in the back of the head and had multiple slash wounds to his head, face, hands, and arms. The report also stated that these wounds suggested the victim had attempted self-defense.
A Glock 9mm handgun and a blood-stained tomahawk axe were found at the scene. Investigators said the perpetrator had behavioral problems, frequently watching videos and playing games inappropriate for his age. The arrest warrant specifically stated that the game Call of Duty Warzone was believed to have influenced the perpetrator, as both weapons were featured in the gameplay. However, this does not appear to be the final confirmation from the police, as the warrant also mentions several other games.
The arrest warrant also stated that the child's smartphone and tablet would be examined to determine the cause and reason for the use of the weapons.
