A World War II simulation featuring the iconic 'Sherman Commander' tank.
Sherman Commander combines first-person tank control gameplay with World War II battlefields.
When you think of World War II, you probably immediately think of the M4 Sherman tank. The most widely used tank in the US and Allied armies, it was a powerful, reliable, mass-produced machine that served as the backbone of the armed forces, supporting infantry on numerous fronts. Sherman Commander combines tank simulation and real-time tactical (RTS) elements to showcase the importance of the M4 in the conflict, allowing you to both sit in the commander's seat and control operations on a larger scale.

Sherman Commander comes from developer Iron Wolf Studio, the same team behind the exciting war simulation game Destroyer: The U-Boat Hunter. Their new World War II game focuses on land warfare and was recently released after numerous beta tests that 'exceeded our expectations,' according to developer Artur Salwarowski. Responding to feedback from those tests, Iron Wolf further emphasized the presence of action inside tanks and implemented greater autonomy for your accompanying forces.
The goal with Sherman Commander was to strike a balance between realism and an 'accessible and easy-to-understand' game. As a tank platoon commander involved in many of the most famous conflicts on the European front during World War II, you are free to 'destroy everything, as well as use your brain to devise various tactics to achieve your goals'.

Players must be aware of the battlefield situation, and coordination with allied infantry and tanks is key to success in Sherman Commander, whether you're fighting in Normandy, across German cities, or in the vast Ardennes forest. Tanks without infantry support are incredibly vulnerable, and conversely, these two forces must always cooperate to maximize their potential on the battlefield.

Although the Sherman tank is relatively versatile, you're still controlling a bulky and heavy machine, and that requires careful thought before charging into battle. Fortunately, you have its explosive power, and its ability to destroy structures over a wide area allows you to create opportunities for both yourself and your army by tearing through the rubble.
