Envy officially withdraws from Marvel Rivals.

The wave of departures from the Marvel Rivals esports ecosystem shows no signs of stopping. Recently, the renowned organization Envy officially announced a temporary suspension of all competitive activities, becoming the next major name after Sentinels and 100 Thieves to say goodbye to the game. images 1 of Envy officially withdraws from Marvel Rivals.

Although Marvel Rivals' esports scene has made significant strides in its first year, notably with the Ignite Mid-Season Finals in Guangzhou (China) boasting a total prize pool of $500,000, the consecutive departures of major teams in recent months are casting a dark shadow over the tournament's future.

In an official announcement posted on social media platform X, Envy confirmed its decision to 'temporarily suspend competitive activities' rather than disband permanently. This move is similar to Sentinels' approach, leaving open the possibility of a future return if the ecosystem develops better.

"Today, we announce a temporary suspension of our participation in Marvel Rivals. We are incredibly proud of the dedication and passion our team has shown… From today onwards, all our players are free to seek new opportunities, and we wish them success on their next journey. As the Marvel Rivals competitive ecosystem evolves, we hope to see the return of Envy Rivals," a representative from the organization shared.

Envy's departure from the Ignite Grand Finals in Atlanta, following in the footsteps of Sentinels and 100 Thieves, shortly after the tournament concluded earlier this month, has created significant unease within the community. The loss of three top organizations in such a short period raises serious questions about the sustainability and appeal of the league as it enters its second year.

From the publisher's perspective, NetEase has yet to comment specifically on the wave of departures by major partners. However, in a recent post on the Marvel Rivals Esports homepage, the company remained optimistic, stating that 2025 is just 'the beginning' and promising that 'that flame will burn even brighter' in 2026.
