Jack Black has expressed his desire to participate in the live-action Yakuza movie.

After starring in a series of blockbuster video game adaptations this decade, actor Jack Black seems to have no intention of stopping. Having left a strong mark through the Minecraft project and the two Super Mario Bros. films, the veteran star is now turning his attention to another popular Sega franchise: Yakuza.

That's right, the lead singer of the band Tenacious D, familiar to mainstream audiences through classic comedies like Shallow Hal and School of Rock, is currently eager to participate in the adaptation of the Japanese underworld video game series. However, he himself is aware that this is not an easy wish to realize.

Jack Black publicly expressed this desire in a recent interview with ScreenRant journalist Ash Crossan. As part of the promotional campaign for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, the actor revealed he is looking for an opportunity to shine in a live-action film adaptation of the next game. However, he's not entirely sure if he fits the character archetypes that Sega is looking for in the Yakuza universe.

The humorous actor sent a message:

'So I decided to give it a try. I don't know if there are any roles for me, like a chubby American guy for example, but let's talk. Sega, give me a call.'

While awaiting a response from Sega, fans will soon see Jack Black voice the iconic villain Bowser in the upcoming blockbuster The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

In particular, in this latest installment, he will have the opportunity to join a host of classic characters from Nintendo's past, including Mouser, Wart, and Birdo. Additionally, Bowser Jr. is revealed to play a crucial role in this storyline.
