League of Legends will fully refund LP points to players affected by AFK teammates.

Good news for the League of Legends community: Riot Games has officially rolled out a new update that allows players affected by AFK (away from keyboard) situations to fully refund their LP (Lands Points).

According to Phroxzon, with the latest patch, players who are not involved in or not violating any rules regarding AFK behavior will now receive a 100% refund of any LP points deducted if a team member unfortunately leaves a match midway. Notably, this compensation system has now been activated on the official servers and is being directly applied to current ranked matches, providing practical fairness for legitimate players.

In addition to launching the LP refund feature, a Riot Games representative also emphasized that the development team is continuously refining and improving methods for handling negative behavior. Specifically, the publisher will focus on thoroughly reviewing more sophisticated cases, such as intentionally arranging AFK matches to manipulate scores or situations where players use abusive language to force teammates to leave the game. More detailed updates on this monitoring and punishment system are expected to be widely shared by the development team in the near future.
