ARC Raiders Reveals All New Content in Flashpoint Update
All the new content will appear in ARC Raiders via the Flashpoint update, which Embark has officially shared ahead of its release.
ARC Raiders announces a large-scale Flashpoint update.
In January of this year, Embark Studios kicked off the new year by announcing the official update roadmap for ARC Raiders, along with four major content updates: Headwinds, Shrouded Sky, Flashpoint , and Riven Tides . The first major update added a controversial 1v3 matchmaking mode, along with an exclusive map condition for Buried City . This past February, Embark continued its upgrades with Shrouded Sky, bringing the Hurricane map condition, two extremely dangerous ARC enemies , and more content.
And this time, Embark has announced a whole new set of content coming through the March Flashpoint update. One of the most notable additions is a completely new map condition called ARC Assessor. According to Embark, the amount of loot that can be found on the map will be less, but players can find a new ARC Assessor with an "unprecedented" number of ARC mechs patrolling around. This Assessor seems to offer many high-value items, but in return, players will have to prepare to face both hordes of ARCs and other Raiders .
Following the addition of two new ARC enemies in last month's update, another deadly threat is about to appear in the Topside area: the Vaporizer . It's unclear whether the Vaporizer will appear on all maps and under all conditions, but Embark says this new flying ARC 'has been spotted lurking around the mission area' .
As the name suggests, Vaporizer boasts incredibly destructive laser attacks and a unique, unpredictable attack mechanism. After and , players will once again need to prepare thoroughly to face this extremely annoying new ARC .
Many other important feature updates
Regarding the ARC mechs , Embark also confirmed that their most dangerous enemy will no longer be confined to the Stella Montis area. After "someone" leaves the gate open, the Shredder mechs will begin roaming to Blue Gate, Buried City, Spaceport , and Dam Battlegrounds under varying map conditions.
Embark also adds two new weapons to counter the ARC: a submachine gun that uses medium-caliber ammunition, increasing the player's chances of survival in close-range combat ; and an energy shotgun with the ability to change focus: firing a wide-area electrical stream, or concentrating it into a powerful beam of electricity.
Additionally, there's a new item called the "Electric Shock," a deployable device that periodically generates electricity around it and shocks anything that enters its range. Players can also expect significant improvements to the crafting system to simplify the equipment building process. When crafting, it's now possible to directly add missing materials without switching between multiple tabs.
When materials are scarce, the system will display a list of available sources, allowing players to recycle, refine, or purchase them all within the same window. Additionally, there will be upgrades: players can feed the chicken to expand the types of loot it collects, and receive higher-value items if they continue to care for it.
