RuneScape releases Havenhythe expansion, its biggest in history, to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
RuneScape continues to demonstrate its enduring vitality with the announcement of the Havenhythe Part One expansion, considered one of the biggest regional updates to date. This new content is part of the game's 25th anniversary celebrations and promises to deliver many noteworthy experiences for both new and veteran players.
Havenhythe introduces a completely new area with wild, rugged terrain and a focus on exploration rather than intense endgame activities. This is seen as a 'return' to the original spirit of RuneScape, where players can freely explore the vast open world.
In addition to expanding the map, the update also adds many new activities, especially for those who love the Hunter skill. The environment in Havenhythe is designed to encourage tracking and hunting creatures in harsh conditions.
Havenhythe's highlight lies in its improved Big Game Hunter mechanics. Players must use tracking skills to stealthily approach their prey before delivering the decisive blow. Successful hunts yield rare materials for crafting high-level equipment and a significant amount of Hunter XP. Additionally, new trap systems like clockwork traps allow players to take down multiple targets simultaneously, opening up more diverse strategies during the hunt.
The expansion also introduces two new bosses suitable for players level 40-50, including Silverquill the Dreadhog and Ivar the King of Bones. This is an opportunity for new players to quickly familiarize themselves with the game's combat challenges. In addition, two new quests, Visions of Havenhythe and Hearts of the Sanguine, will help expand the storyline, introducing new characters and threats in the area.
With Havenhythe Part One, developer Jagex demonstrates its ambition to continue developing RuneScape in the long term. Notably, this is only the first part, with Part Two expected to launch in 2026, promising to expand content and further refine the Havenhythe area in the future.
