The highly anticipated April Fool's Day Minecraft update has been released, and the developers have created a theme centered around Poison Potatoes. Mojang Studios is known for its ridiculous April Fool's Day updates every year, and this time their focus seems to be on what is considered the most useless item in Minecraft.

Minecraft players are eagerly awaiting the next major update, version 1.21, which will be released later this year. From new blocks to mobs and caves, there's plenty to look forward to. To prepare for this big update, Mojang has released snapshots to fine-tune Minecraft step by step. For example, the recently released Minecraft Snapshot 24w13a made a number of interesting changes to the Bow, adding the ability to enhance it with existing and new enchantments, making it more powerful. Now, fans have the chance to test out one of the funniest Minecraft updates Mojang has released recently.

In a recent blog post, Mojang revealed the full update notes for the Poisonous Potato update. A range of in-game items have been featured with a poisonous potato theme, including but not limited to blocks, mobs, and even artwork. Perhaps one of the funniest parts of the update is the full Poisonous Potato armor set, which, when equipped, will destroy nearby mobs due to its poisonous effect. Items like sofas and lamps have also been given a touch of 'poison'.

In fact, even the weather effects in Minecraft weren't overlooked, with rain rendered in blue in the snapshot.

One of the most requested items was the Frying Table, and the snapshot allowed players to craft a variety of items using Poison Potatoes. However, the biggest highlight of the update was the tools. Minecraft fans had been requesting a zipline for a long time, and this update made that a reality by adding the Lashing Potato. There was also a potato peeler that dealt extra damage to potato mobs. As every year, Mojang Studios once again impressed the community with how extensive their April Fool's Day update was. This time, however, fans felt a little disappointed as many of the much-requested items were added as a joke, but never released in Minecraft.
