T1 confirms coaching staff changes ahead of LCK 2026.
T1 has officially announced changes to its coaching staff just before the start of the LCK 2026 group stage.
Head coach kkOma will be taking a temporary leave of absence during the early part of the season due to personal reasons. According to the organization's announcement, after thorough internal discussions, the T1 management has decided to fully respect the head coach's request.
In order to comply with the strict regulations of the LCK league requiring a head coach to be present on the court during matches, Im 'Tom' Jae-hyeon will officially take on the role of interim head coach and lead the team in the coming period.
T1 particularly emphasized Tom's outstanding leadership abilities and extensive experience, expressing their absolute confidence in his capacity to lead the team during kkOma's absence.
T1's opening match of this season will be a fierce clash, a highly anticipated 'Telecommunications War,' against their arch-rivals KT Rolster, scheduled for April 1st. This also marks the start of the LCK 2026 group stage, signifying a new chapter in South Korea's top League of Legends tournament, where leading teams compete for spots in the playoffs and international competitions.
Following personnel changes, T1 quickly reassured the fan community. The management committed to providing maximum support to ensure the players maintain their peak performance throughout the season. At the same time, the team earnestly appealed to fans to continue their support and enthusiastic cheers for the entire team and their interim head coach in the challenging trials ahead.
