Try playing Undisputed: The Undisputed Fist!
Try playing Undisputed – When it comes to boxing games, we often think of EA's famous Fight Night franchise.
However, with EA focusing on mixed martial arts (MMA) and the UFC, the boxing game market has been largely empty in recent years.
Now, boxing games seem to be making a comeback, with the arrival of Undisputed , a title developed by Steel City Interactive.
Currently, Undisputed is in 'early access'. What can we learn about the game through the Undisputed demo ?
Let's explore this further with tipsplay.net in the following article!
1. THE FEELING OF BOXING IS SO SATISFYING!
As a boxing game, conveying the feel of throwing punches effectively is essential, and it's safe to say that the Undisputed demo did a good job of this.
With each punch thrown, we can hear the boxer's breathing, the whistling sound of the punch as it flies through the air, before the resounding thud as it hits the opponent.
And when the punches hit their target, players can also feel the shock from the blows on the skin, creating the sensation that the punches are actually powerful.
The most satisfying feeling comes when you land counter-attacks after blocking or dodging your opponent's blows. These punches will shake the screen, leaving your opponent stunned, providing a truly satisfying experience!
Of course, in cases where the strike merely grazes the target or is completely blocked, the visual and sound effects also do a great job of letting us know that the strike was ineffective, such as the 'whoosh' sound coming from the glove's surface.
2. THE MECHANISM OF ACTUAL BOXING
The Undisputed demo also successfully recreates the feeling of being a real boxer, allowing players to immerse themselves in the action of the fighter.
Besides basic elements like the freedom to unleash any combination of moves you want, focusing power on certain punches, feinting, dodging (slip, bob, weave). the game also allows us to strategically change our movement style.
More specifically, we can choose between moving cautiously, keeping our hands together in a defensive posture, or moving more freely, lightly, and quickly, but with reduced defensive capabilities.
The movements of the fighters, whether attacking, defending, or simply moving, are relatively realistic, fluid, and not stiff like they were all made from the same mold.
3. PERSONAL OPINION
As someone who occasionally puts on boxing gloves to relieve stress and improve their fitness, I enjoyed what the Undisputed demo offered. The combination moves I practice in real life can also be applied in the game, with quite high effectiveness.
However, a few things need to be said: the current quality of the game.
First of all, the game is quite difficult. Even as a boxing enthusiast who knows what to do in a match, I still felt overwhelmed playing at the Intermediate level. After 5 matches, I haven't won a single 'Knockout'.
Additionally, it would be better if the game included tutorials on some simple combos for beginners in the practice section.
Finally, while the commentators provided accurate insights and interesting information surrounding the match, they never specifically named any of the fighters. More precisely, the commentators kept saying things like , "That was a beautiful punch from this fighter!"; "This fighter truly doesn't know what fatigue is!"…
The early access version of the game doesn't yet have a career mode, and I'm really looking forward to experiencing this element in the future.
