Try playing Resident Evil 4 Remake

Try playing Resident Evil 4 Remake – Released in 2005, Resident Evil 4 is arguably one of the most iconic games of the PS2 and GameCube era.

Following the success of the Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes , Capcom decided to remake this game as well.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is officially launching this month, and in preparation, Capcom has released a demo.

Here are tipsplay.net's impressions of the Resident Evil 4 Remake demo .

1. HIGH LEVEL OF HORROR

The Resident Evil 4 Remake demo recreates the opening minutes of the game, when players begin their journey to find Ashley in a remote village in Spain.

Compared to the original, the remake has created a better horror atmosphere, through the darkness and narrowness of the forest path at the beginning of the game, as well as the strange objects hanging throughout the first house we enter.

In addition, the enemies are designed to be more terrifying, with bloodshot eyes that show madness, as well as the ability to attack Leon even with a broken neck.

Moreover, the game's enemies are also smarter, knowing how to use their numbers to launch surprise attacks, sneak up behind the player, or even proactively set traps along the way during combat.

The moment the clock chimed – a famous moment in the game – truly gave the writer the feeling that they had been saved from a certain defeat, due to the overwhelming dominance of the opponent.

Compared to the original, the remake has created a better horror atmosphere, through its environmental elements and enemies.

2. GOOD SOUND AND IMAGE

One aspect worth mentioning about the Resident Evil 4 Remake demo is the well-executed graphics and sound.

Even when testing the game on a performance-prioritized graphics 'preset', the author still felt the game had good lighting and detailed environments.

Reportedly, the demo also ran at 40fps/900p on a standard PS4 and 60fps/1080p (or 30fps/4K) on a PS4 Pro, indicating that Capcom has done a relatively good job optimizing the performance of the RE Engine.

In terms of sound, the sounds of each gunshot, knife stab, grenade explosion, and chainsaw blast are well-rendered, creating a sense of power for the weapons.

But most notably, it's the villagers' voice acting that stands out. Familiar lines (like '¡Un Forastero! – There's an intruder!' ) are reproduced in this game, but instead of being pronounced clearly, these words are delivered with the aggressive ferocity of the speaker, who has contracted Las Plagas.

One aspect worth mentioning about the Resident Evil 4 Remake demo is the well-executed graphics and sound.

3. PERSONAL OPINION

While Resident Evil 4 isn't really a game that needs a remake, the demo did a great job of making me look forward to its release.

Besides the commendable aspects mentioned above, the Resident Evil 4 Remake demo also features some other interesting details related to character movement.

For example, Leon will switch his gun-holding style from normal to CAR during close combat, rub his shoulders and back when his health is low, or shake his head when he sees something unpleasant… These elements give Leon a very natural and realistic feel.

In addition, the combat element has been made even more exciting, as the American agent can now use his survival knife to deflect blows and finish off enemies.

And of course, the melee combat mechanics (which originated in the original Resident Evil 4 ) also return.

While Resident Evil 4 isn't really a game that needs a remake, the demo did a great job of making me look forward to its release.

4. WHEN WILL IT BE RELEASED?

The Resident Evil 4 Remake demo is now widely available. The full version of the game will be released on March 24th.
