A number of mechanics from previous installments will make a comeback along with some improvements to enhance character mobility, including:

  • Map Voting allows players to vote on maps in multiplayer mode.
  • The red dots on the minimap indicate the enemy's firing direction.
  • All Perks can be selected at the start of each match.
  • Perk Covert Sneakers reduce noise when moving.
  • Increasing the default health to 150 increases the time-to-kill time for an opponent; however, Hardcore mode (one-shot kill) is not affected by the increased health.
  • The Slide Cancel technique (which cancels the character's sliding behavior while running) returns, but it does not allow the use of the subsequent sprint mechanism (Tactical Sprint – when running, the character's gun barrel will point upwards instead of at chest level).
  • Tactical Sprint will be 'recharged' when the player runs normally.
  • Players can pause the reload animation and continue shooting.
  • Climbing movements will be faster and can be performed while running.
  • Players can shoot while sliding or shoot immediately after sliding has finished.

Much of the content and progression rewards from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022) will be carried over to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III . This means that weapons, gun attachments, and previously unlocked 'Blueprints' will be available for use in the upcoming version.

In some cases, weapons from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022) will be able to use attachments from the new version, or 'universal' attachments from the 2022 version may also be usable on the new weapons.

The Weapon Platform system has also been expanded to include several categories, adding more weapon attachment options from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022) .

However, players should note that content from this upcoming game will not be 'backward compatible' with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022) .
