Actor from Kingdom Come: Deliverance Ready to Step into the World of Cinema

Tom McKay, the actor who played the main character Henry in Kingdom Come: Deliverance, recently hinted at the possibility of appearing in the film adaptation if given the chance.

The actor who plays Henry is expected to return in the live-action film.

Tom McKay, the actor who played the main character in the role-playing game franchise  Kingdom Come: Deliverance,  recently shared his desire to return to the role in a live-action project.

Beyond video games, McKay has spent much of his career on stage, performing for the  Royal Shakespeare  Company at the National Theatre in London. He has also had a number of roles in film and television, but his role as  Henry  in  Kingdom Come: Deliverance  was his major breakthrough.

As the person responsible for both voice acting and motion capture, McKay brilliantly portrayed the depth of the character and  Henry 's development  throughout the two games. Discussions surrounding Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's award prospects led many to believe he could be honored. Although not nominated at The Game Awards 2025, he still received nominations at the Golden Joystick Awards and the BAFTA Game Awards.

McKay attended the 2026 BAFTA Game Awards, where he was nominated for Best Actor. Before the ceremony, he shared with This Week in Videogames about the possibility of returning as Henry in the film adaptation of Kingdom Come: Deliverance .

"That's absolutely not my decision," McKay said . "I love the complexity and depth of this character, I would love to play him. Honestly, if I get an offer, I'd almost certainly want to come back. But this story has so many different paths that could develop. If I get involved, I'd be happy, and if not, I'd still wholeheartedly support it."

There's a chance for a different actor to play Henry.

As an actor, McKay has proven his excellence in the role  of Henry . However, whether he can return to the role depends on how faithful the film adaptation is to the game. Although in both games, players don't know  Henry 's exact age , as the son of a blacksmith, it's possible he started out as a young man. Meanwhile, McKay is now 46 years old, which could be a problem if the live-action film adheres closely to the original source material.

Therefore, it could open up opportunities for another actor to bring a fresh perspective to the character. Currently, information about the film is still very limited. Earlier this year, the series' director, Daniel Vavra, temporarily left game development to focus on the film project, while continuing his involvement with the franchise. However, it seems the film is still in its early stages, so fans will have to wait for more information.

It's currently unclear whether McKay will have another chance to play Henry. After the final DLC was released last year, Henry 's story seemed to have come to an end, and Warhorse Studios hasn't confirmed plans to continue the series. However, it's encouraging to know that if the opportunity arises, McKay is always ready to return to this iconic role.
