Blood Oath - A Blood Bond that unites guilds in Lineage W
Lineage W's unique Blood Oath system has transformed guild relationships into a true 'blood oath' ritual.
In today's popular MMORPGs, the concept of guilds has become a common and widespread feature. Anyone can create a guild, and sometimes there are no requirements to join; strangers can join a guild with just a click of a button. This makes the concept of guilds a kind of 'instant' procedure to legitimize participation in other activities that require a guild. Lineage W completely reverses this with its exclusive Blood Oath system.
With the Blood Oath ability, guilds are designed like a real army with strict hierarchy and discipline. To obtain a Blood Oath, players must accept a significant trade-off right from the class selection stage — something no fast-food game would dare to ask for.
How does the Blood Oath operate differently?
In Lineage W, Blood Oath doesn't operate on the principle of giving away free gifts. Every individual action, from farming monsters to completing quests, accumulates Contribution Points in a shared inventory. These points are the "fuel" for running a complex and privileged governance system.
At the heart of this structure is Blood Oath. This is the skill tree of the entire Blood Oath. All members use farm points to upgrade abilities such as increasing member size, permanently boosting stats for the entire guild, and unlocking ultimate privileges like the Blood Oath Shop or Clan Hall Raid.
Meanwhile, on a personal level, there's Insignia, representing individual honor. Players use contribution points to upgrade their Insignia, increasing their power. The brighter the Insignia shines, the greater the player's contribution to the guild and the more important they are to the group.
Guilds will have a hierarchical system of ranks and titles. The Lord has the power to appoint actual titles such as Guardian or Elite Knight. These are not mere titles but come with the authority to manage and coordinate the Blood Oath's activities, creating a chain of command structure similar to a professional army.
Guild combat power will also be honed through Clan Hall Raid. These are exclusive boss dungeons only for high-level Blood Oath players. Conquering them not only yields top-tier equipment but also provides a training ground for combat coordination and tactical testing, preparing teams for larger battles.
Guild cohesion is also demonstrated through the Blood Pledge Codex feature. This is a collection of guild treasures. All members will work together to collect items and submit them to this collection to unlock power for the entire guild according to predetermined categories. The benefit is shared strength that everyone can enjoy. Therefore, everyone must contribute, and those who leave the guild will lose these valuable power-boosting stats.
Conclude
As can be seen, the Blood Oath system in Lineage W, with its personal benefits and collective power boosts, has become a particularly strong bond between members. The power-boosting stats from individual Insignia, Blood Oath, and ranking buffs make a member stronger than others with similar strength and equipment who haven't joined. This is the glue that binds loyalty, and a strong guild becomes even stronger as more people want to join to benefit from the Blood Oath's power.
Lineage W is now open for pre-registration. Players can participate to receive various rewards from the publisher. This is also an opportunity for guilds to gather, pre-assign roles such as Lord, Guardian, and Knight within their guild, and work together towards the launch on May 27th.
