Game of Calamity: Unraveling the Entire Journey into the Hell of Calamity for Nhat Huy

With the complete version of *Tai Uong* now released, all the pieces are complete to help us understand the full extent of Huy's family's misfortune and their connection to the evil deity Tai Uong.

The journey to rediscover the past of Nhat Huy's family.

The game is becoming one of the most successful names in the Vietnamese horror game market after the release of its complete version. Throughout all four chapters, it can be seen that the "Hell of Calamity" seems to be the hell in Huy's mind. This was also mentioned earlier by the sorcerer Dai Cuong. Each area he sets foot in represents a part of his memory, while also revealing the truth about his family.

In the area closely associated with Mrs. Dang Thi Loan, small details such as time sheets and notices from Binh Minh Garment Company gradually reveal a bitter truth. Mrs. Loan was not only the hardest worker but also frequently the last to leave, indicating an exhausting life of labor. At the same time, her sewing team is suspected of being involved in the loss of goods.

Meanwhile, the story unfolds with the father, Mr. Le Hoang Nhat. Through fragmented notes and accounts, we see a man who once accepted dangerous jobs just to earn money to support his family. He was even offered to sell his own daughter to pay off debts, but he immediately refused, leading to a fight with his drinking buddy. These things show that although Huy's parents had many flaws, they were only trying to survive, doing everything they could to provide for Huy's education.

Huy also found a university admission notice stating that he didn't have enough points to get into a public university and could only attend a private one with expensive tuition. But Huy's parents still decided to let him go to university, even at the cost of his younger sister, Huyen, having to stay home to help earn money. These details show the immense expectations of Huy's parents. They bet everything on their son, hoping that one day he would be able to change the lives of the entire family.

It's worth noting that Huyen's younger sister didn't resent her brother for this. Huyen's notes show that she always loved him, but that love was never fully reciprocated. Huy, spoiled, became materialistic and inconsiderate. He didn't realize that everything he had – from the ball to moments of freedom – was bought at the silent sacrifice of his sister. Even during tutoring sessions, Huy deliberately gave Huyen wrong answers just so he could go out and play. From this family tragedy, the story expands to a more mysterious layer as the Tran family's genealogy is revealed.

The Control of the Evil God of Calamity

Based on the information gathered, sorcerer Tran Dai Cuong has two children: Tran Loi Danh and Tran Pham Phuong. While Loi Danh is the sorcerer who performed the blood-marking ritual for Huyen, Pham Phuong is almost certainly the fortune teller Huy initially contacted. In the group chat, the fortune teller used the name Phuong Nguyen. Thus, both of sorcerer Dai Cuong's children seem to have, for some reason, changed their surname to Nguyen. Notably, below Loi Danh's name is another name: Tran Dang Nhat Huy. Combined with the torn letter between sorcerer Danh and Mrs. Loan, the truth is gradually revealed: Huy is the illegitimate son of sorcerer Danh and Mrs. Loan.

Returning to the character of Phuong, there is a medical report stating that she was born in 1932 and suffered from a terminal illness. Additionally, there is a photograph with three figures: Teacher Dai Cuong on the far left, Teacher Loi Danh in the middle, and Phuong on the right. In the photo, Phuong's forehead bears a mark similar to the mark on the forehead of the female spirit who guided Huy in the underworld of Tai Uong. This seems to confirm that the two are the same person. Furthermore, behind the photograph is a series of numbers written in blood, which, when rotated, reveals the date August 29, 1958.

That was also the day that sorcerer Dai Cuong performed the ritual to ward off evil spirits at Phong Xich Lan apartment building. These clues suggest that Phuong was one of the four female corpses with the Metal element in their birth chart that sorcerer Dai Cuong used to create the Four Pillars of Destiny, controlling misfortune. In the riddle at Master Loi Danh's house, there was also a note related to the Life-Changing ritual, requiring the finding of a sacrificial offering whose elemental sign matched that of the deceased. Along with Master Danh looking at Phuong in the photograph and the ritual he performed to ward off misfortune on little Huyen, it can be seen that Mr. Danh wanted to use Huyen as a vessel to bring Phuong's sister's soul back to the mortal world.

Interestingly, after the blood-marking ceremony, Huyen began experiencing hallucinations of the evil god Tai Uong. Initially, Master Dai Cuong performed the exorcism because the land where the Phong Xich Lan apartment complex was being built was plagued by misfortune. The ritual was initially successful, but over time, Master Dai Cuong lost the power to control it.

Tai Ương then used Phương's spirit to lure Master Lợi Danh into performing a soul-swapping ritual with the goal of possessing Huyên's body. However, according to the description of the soul-swapping ritual, the sacrificer must be at least 16 years old to complete the process. Huyên committed suicide when she was only 15 years old, causing the ritual to fail. Unable to obtain Huyên's body, Tai Ương then turned to Huy.

From here, the entire journey in the game becomes a trap for Tai Uong to manipulate Huy's mind, from nightly nightmares to even the fortune teller 'Phuong Nguyen'. Tai Uong planted the idea in Huy's head that his sister's soul was in danger and that he had to enter the spirit world to rescue her. These thoughts, along with the dreams, gradually drove Huy insane.

Huy's journey into the Hell of Misfortune was never meant to help him find his sister's soul, but rather for Misfortune to completely manipulate his mind. The three wall stickers Huy found at the Water Gate Pass were never Huyen's soul, but rather fragments of beautiful memories between the two siblings. Huy's discovery of them also meant he understood his sister's feelings for him.

The meaning of the endings in *The Calamity*

The stone hearts that Huy found in trash cans on his journey symbolize the price paid by the characters in the game. The heart engraved with the words "Myself" represents Huy's price as he gradually loses himself. The heart "Conscience" is the price paid by Mr. Loi Danh, as he abandons his own conscience to achieve his goal of reviving his sister Phuong. The two hearts "Honor" and "Dignity" seem to symbolize Mr. Nhat's price, as he has to sacrifice them to earn money to support his family. From here, we gradually uncover the meaning of each different ending.

If Huy burns away the memories of Huyen, it proves that Huy's mind has been manipulated by the Calamity. The image of the hole-filled puppet being burned in the Hell of Calamity implies that Huy is now nothing more than a puppet, without a heart. In the second ending, Huy uses the memories of Huyen to open an easy path. This means he has allowed the darkness to devour them, and his mind is also ravaged by guilt, leading to the feast of Calamity. Although Huy escapes the dream, he is now also controlled by the Calamity.

Finally, Huy tries to preserve fragments of Huyen's memories and chooses a difficult path. This prevents him from flying the kite, but it's never an escape. Huy's turning to stone and gradually falling into darkness shows that he is giving up because of his torment, but the beautiful memories of Huyen help him overcome it. Huyen wants him to realize that the agonizing pain in his mind is just a remnant of the past, driving Huy mad as he searches for answers and forgets himself. Only when Huy learns to let go will he find peace.

Regarding the evil god Tai Nuong, it certainly hasn't been completely defeated yet. The Rare Reversee development team also revealed that this isn't the end of the nightmare. The curse won't be easily lifted, and Tai Nuong will return in the future.
