Diablo Immortal introduces the major update 'The Taking'.

Blizzard Entertainment has just announced a major update called The Taking for Diablo Immortal , scheduled for release on March 19, 2026.

This is the opening chapter of the long-running storyline for the year, titled 'Nation in Agony'.

The update focuses on a mysterious phenomenon where people disappear across Sanctuary, launching an investigation into an ancient force.

Players will be guided through many familiar and new areas (zones on the map), including:

  • Westminster (hub city)
  • Eastgate Monastery (monastery)
  • Rocky Waste (desert region)

The main antagonist has been confirmed as Andariel (Maiden of Anguish), a familiar boss in the Diablo game series .

  • Battleground (team-based PvP arena) updates : seasonal updates
  • Legendary Gem (high-level power-boosting item): Leviathan Tomb

Notably, the new PvP mode employs an equalized stats mechanism to ensure fair competition among players.
