New Free Game Released on Steam Supports 8-Player Co-op, Featuring a Strong Miami Hotline Theme
From independent developer NF Mynster, Monday Meltdown is a chaotic, top-down shooter experience that supports up to 8 players and, best of all, it's completely free.
Hotline Miami-style co-op game launches for free.
Monday Meltdown officially launched on Steam on February 9th, developed by independent developer NF Mynster and offered completely free. The game supports co-op mode for up to 8 players, where players must 'eliminate' their friends across various game modes using a variety of weapons. It's a top-down 2D game with a truly chaotic pace; gameplay feels like pure free-for-all combat, complete with a range of character and weapon skins to unlock during gameplay.
The most striking aspect is the game's level of violence and gore. The gameplay is extremely similar to Hotline Miami , which makes perfect sense since NF Mynster also lists this game as one of its main inspirations. Given the booming co-op gaming scene on Steam, it's easy to see why it can attract players. For those who don't have enough friends to play with, the game also supports bots, so solo play is still possible.
Monday Meltdown was in Early Access for over two years before its official release. During that time, the game received numerous updates, taking advantage of the Early Access program to refine the gameplay. It's gratifying to see such a passionate project reach its goal, and it would be exciting if it continues to receive support after release. Currently, Monday Meltdown's Steam rating is 'Very Positive', with 96% of reviews being positive.
