Nintendo has officially released a free trial version of its life simulation game, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream.

Earlier this year, the Nintendo Direct event dedicated to the Tomodachi Life franchise provided 20 minutes of detailed information about this latest sequel. On the same day, fans also received the announcement of the official release date: April 16, 2026. Now, with less than a month until the launch, players can try out the game for themselves before deciding whether to purchase it.

According to an announcement from Nintendo UK's official X account, the free demo version of Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream Welcome Version is now available for download. Interested gamers can access it through the Nintendo eShop online store on the Switch or Switch 2. Alternatively, users can also get the game by clicking the download button directly on the company's website.

The free demo not only allows players to skim through many of the core features of the next installment in the Tomodachi series, but also supports transferring all progress to the full version if they decide to purchase it. Additionally, completing the demo will reward gamers with a special prize: an adorable hamster costume to customize their Mii characters.
