PUBG: Blindspot Officially Announces Closure After Only About 1 Month of Operation
Despite only being released for a little over a month, PUBG: BlindSpot will officially end its Early Access campaign today and be completely canceled.
PUBG test: Blindspot ends in disappointing failure.
Blindspot is a 5v5 tactical top-down shooter game developed as a spin-off of the popular Battle Royale franchise PUBG: Battlegrounds . By combining PUBG 's signature shooting style with teamwork and tactical action similar to Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege , the ARC Team hoped that Blindspot could create a fresh direction when it launched in Early Access on February 5th.
Unfortunately, shortly after its release, the game received mixed reviews on Steam. Much of the criticism focused on the confusing controls, unoriginal gameplay, and various matchmaking issues. This less-than-ideal launch raised concerns about the future of PUBG: Blindspot, with some hoping the developers would take feedback into account and provide a clear roadmap for improvement.
But it seems the game's fate was sealed early. According to Sequoia Yang from the ARC Team development team, the Early Access phase of PUBG: Blindspot officially ends today, March 30th, and the game will no longer be operational.
The development team reportedly experimented with various approaches to improve the experience, but ultimately found they couldn't deliver the quality they initially desired. After careful consideration, they made the difficult decision to shut down the game. ARC Team stated that PUBG: Blindspot was a bold attempt to explore new directions within the Battle Royale genre.
Although this experiment was unsuccessful, they will reorganize and return in the future with fresher experiences. This announcement disappointed many fans on social media platforms like Reddit and Twitter. Many in the community believe that PUBG: Blindspot was an interesting idea, but the lack of promotion both before and after release was the main reason the game failed to gain traction.
The community is concerned about the Black Budget project.
Players believe the developers relied too heavily on the association with [the game] to gain momentum, but that didn't work. They also argue that if the game had continued to evolve through updates, more engaging mechanics, and more added features, it could have found its place in the genre. With PUBG: Blindspot shutting down, many in the community are now speculating about the future of [another game], another spin-off currently in development.
This game was announced by Krafton in November 2025 and is described as an extraction shooter where players explore a mysterious island in a time loop and are surrounded by a supernatural force called the Anomaly. The extraction shooter genre is becoming increasingly popular in the gaming industry, especially with titles like ARC Raiders. Therefore, expectations for Black Budget are quite high. Although there is currently no official release date, players hope that Krafton will not cancel the project.
