War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius officially announces its closure.
Publisher Square Enix and developer gumi have officially announced that the Japanese version of the mobile game War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius will cease service on May 28th.
War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius was first released to players on iOS and Android platforms on November 14, 2019, in its home market of Japan. Following that success, the game expanded globally with a global release on March 25, 2020. However, after a long period of operation, the international version officially closed on May 30, 2025, leaving the Japanese server operating alone until now.
In a message to the community, producer Watanabe revealed that the development team had considered releasing an offline version to help players continue their experience after the main servers went down.
Unfortunately, this idea was deemed too difficult to fully implement. The main reason stems from the fact that the core of the game relies too heavily on online battles, guild activities, and constant interaction between players.
Instead of a standalone version, to honor the dedicated fans who have supported the project for many years, Square Enix is currently actively preparing special videos to help gamers revisit the entire storyline. Additionally, a commemorative book will be released to preserve the game's legacy and most memorable moments.
