According to estimates, the hugely successful launch of the Death Stranding 2 port on PC not only generated massive revenue but also gave a significant boost to sales of the game itself on the PS5. This convincing performance will undoubtedly make Sony think more deeply about the immense potential of the Steam gaming community.

Detailed reports from Alinea Analytics indicate that Death Stranding 2 has now surpassed 2 million copies sold globally. The PC version contributed significantly, with 425,000 copies sold on Steam, accounting for 21% of total sales and playing a major role in helping the game's gross revenue exceed $150 million.

Furthermore, the PC release seems to have served as an incredibly effective marketing campaign for Kojima Productions' work. Combined with Sony's simultaneous Steam sale, daily sales of Death Stranding 2 on PS5 more than doubled.

Specifically, after March 19th, the game averaged 12,500 copies sold per day and peaked at 12,800 copies. For comparison, before its arrival on Steam, daily sales on PS5 peaked at around 5,000 copies during last year's holiday season.

Furthermore, Alinea Analytics also revealed a noteworthy detail: Death Stranding 2 is creating a real sensation among the Chinese gaming community on Steam, with this customer base accounting for 50% of the total player base. These telling figures once again confirm that Sony possesses a huge audience on the PC platform, and they could lose this lucrative market share if rumors about a change in game release strategy in the near future are true.
