A quick guide to the character Kinich in Genshin Impact
Kinich is a 5-star character who uses a greatsword as his primary weapon and possesses a unique skill set inspired by classic arcade games and ancient hunting techniques. Let's explore the most effective build for Kinich, including weapons, artifacts, and the best team compositions in this quick guide.
Kinich is a powerful DPS character capable of dealing massive damage with his nuke ability. He doesn't require a large investment in teammates and is easy to use, suitable for both new and veteran players. Additionally, Kinich provides excellent utility for exploring the world of Genshin Impact, especially in the Natlan region. He also has the ability to unleash the power of the Dragon Lord, offering players a unique combat experience.
Kinich is a powerful DPS character, but also has some weaknesses to be aware of. Kinich's playstyle demands high precision and low ping. Even a small mistake can cause Kinich to lose a significant amount of damage. While Kinich's primary damage source can attack a small group of enemies, he is generally better suited to a single-target DPS role. As an extremely mobile character, Kinich needs to be played with teammates who have a wide area of effect (AoE) to be most effective. However, he also needs to play alongside teammates with limited AoE, such as Bennett or Xiangling.
A brief overview of the skill set
Kinich is a DPS in the game, specializing in using his Skills to enter the Night Spirit Blessing state and deal massive damage to targets with basic attacks and elemental skills. Unlike other Natlan characters, Kinich gains Night Spirit points instead of losing them in the Night Spirit Blessing state. He can gain more Night Spirit points when enemies are damaged by the Burn or Bloom reactions, then use these points to unleash elemental skills that deal massive damage.
1. Normal attack
Kinich's basic attack will perform up to 3 consecutive attacks towards the enemy. While airborne, after using an elemental ability, Kinich can perform one airborne basic attack before landing. After landing, Kinich will attack enemies in his path, dealing damage in a certain area.
2. Proactive skills
E – High-Level Hunt (Elemental Skill): When using Kinich, he can move quickly or attack enemies. When there are no enemies around, Kinich throws his grappling hook forward to move through the air, reducing the skill's cooldown by 60%. When enemies are present, Kinich throws his grappling hook at the target, entering the Night Soul Blessing state with 0 Night Soul points. Additionally, players can press and hold to specify the grappling hook's direction.
Kinich's Night Soul Blessing state lasts for 10 seconds, granting 2 Night Soul stacks per second. While in Night Soul Blessing, Kinich uses his grappling hook to link enemies around him, adjusting his attack style accordingly. When using basic attacks, Kinich uses his current movement direction, centering on the linked target to fire around them, dealing Night Soul Elemental Damage and generating 3 Night Soul stacks. Note that damage dealt while swinging will be counted as Elemental Skill damage.
When Kinich's Soul Points are at maximum, he can cast the Elemental Burst skill. This skill consumes all Soul Points to deal Elemental Grass damage to enemies. Holding down the skill button allows Kinich to pinpoint his target. While Kinich is in Soul Blessing state, linking enemies or casting Burst creates a Death Zone next to them. If Kinich enters this zone, he recovers 4 Soul Points and the zone disappears.
When the link is broken due to exceeding the distance, performing a normal attack will re-link with a nearby enemy and fire in a circle around the target.
Q – Hail Almighty Dragon (Elemental Burst), when activated, Kinich summons a dragon that deals Area Damage Elemental Grass. During the effect, the Grass Dragon continuously casts Dragon's Breath, dealing Area Damage Elemental Grass. When cast, if Kinich is in the Night Soul Blessing state, that Night Soul Blessing will last for an additional 2 seconds.
3. Intrinsic skills
Fire Spirit Covenant: When a teammate nearby activates Night Soul Burst, Kinich gains 1 stack of Hunter's Experience for 15 seconds, stacking up to 2 stacks. When Kinich casts Piercing Shot from High Predator, all Hunter's Experience is consumed, and each stack increases Piercing Shot's damage by 320% of Kinich's Attack.

As the primary DPS, Kinich synergizes very well with Emilie. Emilie can both deal damage and maintain the fire effect, helping Kinich increase his Soul Gains and Elemental Mastery thanks to the Burning Resonance Effect. Fire-type characters like Xiangling and Dehya are also suitable teammates for Kinich as they can continuously inflict Burn. Adding Bennett to buff attack and healing will make the team both safe and high-damage.

Kinich will be very effective in a team composition combining Explosive and Ignite, dealing multiple elemental reactions at once. Nahida, the Grass God, is the best choice to apply the Grass Mark and buff the Grass-related reactions. To optimize Explosive damage, the priority order for applying the Mark is: Water > Grass > Fire. Additionally, Xingqiu or Yelan can be used as a secondary DPS to support this team composition. To mitigate Kinich's fragility, Thoma is used as an option to increase survivability. If you need stronger Ignite, choose Dehya.

Kinich can work in the Growth lineup, but it won't be as effective as the Burn or Explode lineups due to his inherent abilities not supporting it. However, players looking for a change of pace can still experiment with this lineup. Fischl can be replaced with Raiden Shogun to further strengthen the team.
Kinich is an extremely versatile 5-star character in team composition. He can effectively serve as a primary DPS or sub-DPS. With his ability to inflict multiple elemental reactions and possess a high-damage nuke skill, Kinich can be combined with many different teammates in Genshin Impact. If you are a Grass-type player who enjoys mobility and wants to quickly eliminate enemies, Kinich is the 5-star character you should own in Genshin Impact.
