The next Cyberpunk game appears to be Cyberpunk 2080, set in Chicago.

Cyberpunk 2080 was heavily referenced in Cyberpunk 2077 after its update.

With the release of the Phantom Liberty expansion, Cyberpunk 2077 is considered to have been fully updated and reached the potential promised by CD Projekt RED. Therefore, the game officially stopped receiving content updates from this point on, and the developer announced the start of development for the sequel under the codename Project Orion.

However, fans are now predicting that the sequel will be Cyberpunk 2080, set in Chicago. This is because a series of new billboards have recently appeared in the game, advertising new infrastructure that will allow for faster travel between Night City and Chicago, scheduled to be operational in 2080. These billboards seem to have started appearing in early 2023 and have become increasingly numerous with each game update. Now they appear almost everywhere, showing that CD Projekt RED really wants players to pay attention to them.

Project Orion, the next Cyberpunk game, was first announced in 2022. Currently, the only two specific pieces of information about this project are that the game is being developed by CD Projekt RED North America and uses Unreal Engine 5.

In addition, CD Projekt RED in Poland is focusing on The Witcher 4 under the project codename Project Polaris, while also working on Project Hadar, a completely new franchise. Project Sirius, an online Witcher game, is being developed by The Molasses Flood and CD Projekt RED North America. And finally, a remake of The Witcher 1 (2007) is being developed by Fool's Theory. All of these projects utilize Unreal Engine 5.

With the average development time for a AAA game currently taking 4-5 years, we'll likely have to wait a long time to learn more about the next Cyberpunk 2077 installment. Therefore, this could be seen as the developers hinting at what will happen next while we wait.
