When I went to watch T1 and didn't know what this screen was for, I asked the AI.
On December 21st, the Vietnam Exhibition Center in Hanoi was packed with fans attending the VPBank Presents T1 in Vietnam: The Promise Fulfilled event. On the main stage, Faker and his T1 teammates appeared to prolonged cheers. Surrounding the stage, LED screens, lighting, and technology display booths created a true eSports space, where competition and technology demonstrations took place simultaneously.
Not everyone who attends an event is an expert in hardware or display technology. For many viewers, the eSports experience begins with standing in that space, seeing many familiar yet unfamiliar things, and wondering what they are doing in an event like this.
eSports is not just about the stage.
From a viewer's perspective, the competition stage is the most captivating element. On it, the T1 players and the Vietnam All-Star team compete in the highly anticipated showmatch. When zoomed in on the large screen, it's easy to see that the players are all competing on Samsung monitors with their familiar design. For most viewers, the question is much simpler: what kind of monitor is this and why was it chosen for the competition?

Leaving the stage area, Samsung's exhibition booth continued to draw attention with its numerous large, high-brightness screens displaying sharp images. Some screens displayed 3D content, causing viewers to linger longer. The atmosphere here differed from the tension of the competition area, but it revealed another layer of eSports: the technology behind the viewer and player experience.
Raise the camera and ask the AI a question.
Amidst a plethora of display devices, detailed information boards weren't always available for each visitor. Instead of guesswork or manual searching, the Galaxy S25 Ultra was used in a rather intuitive way. Turn on Gemini Live, point the camera at the 3D screen at the Samsung booth, and ask a question directly.
One of the notable devices Samsung brought to this event was the glasses-free Odyssey 3D display.
The AI recognized the device and identified it as the Odyssey 3D G90XF monitor, which uses glasses-free 3D display technology. The depth of the image is created through eye-tracking and real-time image processing. This monitor is geared towards immersive gaming experiences, where players can more clearly perceive the space and movement within the game.
Gemini Live immediately reveals the model name of the new Samsung 3D display and provides additional information about its specifications; simply point your camera at it and ask.
This method of investigation was repeated when zooming in on the competition area. Pointing the camera towards T1's gaming table, Gemini Live further explained that the players were using Odyssey OLED G6 monitors. This is a high-end gaming monitor series with an OLED panel, high refresh rate, and low response time—important factors for esports competitions lasting many hours. Instead of reading complex technical specifications, viewers received a concise answer, enough to understand why this type of monitor was on stage.
Both the T1 players and the All-Star Vietnam team use the Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 monitor as their official competition screen.
AI - A new experience at eSports festivals.
The experience of using AI to ask questions about what it sees transforms the event experience. Viewers don't need to be professional gamers or tech-savvy. Simply hold up your phone, ask a question, and receive an answer right in the real-world context.
In the eSports space, where display technology, lighting, and gaming equipment are constantly in use, AI plays the role of a silent guide. Samsung appears simultaneously in two roles. First, as a display platform with its Odyssey monitor line for competition and gaming experience. Second, as a tool for accessing technology through the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Gemini Live, helping viewers better understand what is happening around them.
The T1 team's championship trophies were displayed by the organizers at the event for Tcon fans to admire; just ask Gemini Live and you'll know what trophy it is.
The Promise Fulfilled was a landmark event for the Vietnamese eSports community, marking a special moment as T1 directly competed and interacted with fans. Beyond the emotions felt for their idols, the event also showcased how technology is infiltrating the eSports experience in very everyday ways.
Being able to stand in the middle of the festival, look up at the stage, observe the exhibition area, and use AI to understand every detail shows that eSports is no longer an unfamiliar world today. For Samsung, its partnership with eSports goes beyond simply appearing on the competition stage; it also lies in helping viewers access technology in a more understandable and natural way, right within the atmosphere of the festival.
