Capcom Changes Pragmata Release Date Again, But Everyone Is Happy
Capcom's ambitious science fiction game, Pragmata, has had its release date changed once again, but this time nobody seems bothered.
Pragmata unexpectedly moved its release date forward by one week.
Pragmata has undergone a rather turbulent development process. The game was first announced in 2020 with a planned release in 2022. However, it was repeatedly delayed: first moved to 2023, then indefinitely postponed that year, before finally being given a new release date of April 24th of this year. Yet, in its newly released trailer, Capcom has once again moved the game's release date, specifically. one week earlier than originally planned.
The new trailer for Pragmata continues to explore the relationship between the two characters and their efforts to survive at a lunar base while trying to find a way back to Earth. When Hugh asks why they are constantly being hunted, Diana explains that during their preparations to leave the Moon for Earth, a lunar earthquake (Moonquake) occurred, damaging the system responsible for managing and defending the base.
Hugh asserts that they will both find a way to disable the IDUS system and return to Earth, and Diana later reaffirms this to an unknown entity – possibly IDUS itself. The trailer also introduces several notable gameplay elements, such as 3D-printed building materials called Luna Filament, Diana 's combat abilities, system hacking , and the weapons Hugh can use. Viewers also get to meet the Hologram cat that appeared in previous teasers.
The final part of the trailer introduces another AI named Diana, seemingly acting as a friendly guide at this lunar research facility. Before ending, Capcom drops the piece of paper Diana usually uses to record the game's release date again. On it, after the word "Sorry" appears and the number 24 is erased, a new number appears, much to many's relief: 17. At least this confirms the game will be released a week earlier than expected.
The earlier release date shows that the game is well-prepared for gamers. The game utilizes many technologies already applied in previous games, such as the hair simulation system used for Diana 's hair . It's known that the development of Pragmata helped Capcom further improve the RE Engine – the graphics technology behind Requiem . This may reassure many about the quality of the graphics the game can offer.
