The director of Resident Evil Requiem promises to reveal the identity of Leon Kennedy's wife!
Shortly after Resident Evil Requiem was released, many eagle-eyed gamers noticed that Leon Kennedy was wearing a wedding ring.
However, the game did not reveal the identity of this lucky woman.
In an interview with Eurogamer, Koshi Nakanishi – the product's director – stated that one day this secret will be fully revealed. Although many have speculated that the ring Leon wears is not a wedding ring, Nakanishi confirmed that Leon has a 'place to return to' at the end of the game.
In addition, the director hopes that players can imagine Leon living a peaceful life at home.
'Leon is a man of few words, yet he's willing to sacrifice himself to save a life right before his eyes without a moment's hesitation. So, what does his ring mean? Is it determination? Or a vow?'
Perhaps he will never say the answer himself, but now – after the match is over – he has a 'place to return to'. Isn't that more than enough?
Recently, Capcom also announced that the game has sold 6 million copies worldwide, becoming the best-selling game in the series.
Currently, Resident Evil Requiem is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store) for $70 for the standard edition.
